Welcome Letter

Dear Discovery School Families:

Welcome to Discovery School. I hope this year provides you and your child(ren) a positive and enriching year of learning and growth.

Student needs and safety are at the forefront of every program, policy, event, and experience planned at our school. The teachers and staff at DS are dedicated professional practitioners who are committed to help every child grow academically and socially. We strive to provide enriching and engaging instruction that will instill a love for learning in each child, as well as push our students to reach their potential of being a high achiever.

Discovery School has a culture of strong family involvement and partnership in our student’s education. Families volunteer and provide support for the needs of our students and our school to ensure a high quality of education is provided. Our PTO is a strong entity and we encourage our families to be involved and hold positions that allow voice and partnership in the decision-making process.

Discovery School is a Tennessee Reward School, a National Blue Ribbon School, and holds a Tennessee STEM Designation. We believe in a STEAM education which encompasses science, technology, engineering, arts, and math to enrich and expose our students to real-world learning. We seek innovative ideas to build on practice, not only from educators, but from our students as well. We are a school family that prides itself on relationships, communication, and collaboration that involves all community stakeholders.
